A Legacy That Began in 1979
The Narain Group has been family-run since 1979, when it was founded as Narain & Company, a modest trading concern. Over four decades it has grown into one of the most respected names in the country’s steel industry, and R.P. Multimetals Ltd. stands today as the manufacturing heart of that legacy.
What began in trading has become an integrated steel manufacturing and supply operation. R.P. Multimetals Ltd. was incorporated in 1997 and commenced the manufacture of ingots in 2000 at Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, one of North India’s most established steel centres. It is a business that combines decades of experience with youthful passion, and it has never grown for the sake of growing. Every expansion has been deliberate, and every stage has been earned.

Integrated by Design
Most steel plants own one link in the chain. R.P. Multimetals owns the whole of it.
Steel is melted in-house, cast into billets on our own continuous casting machine, rolled into hot rolled coil in our own rolling mill, and formed into ERW pipe in our own pipe plant. Nothing changes hands between stages. Nothing arrives from a source we cannot vouch for.
That integration is why quality here is a matter of process rather than inspection. A variation introduced in the melt shop is identified in our own rolling mill within days, long before it could ever reach a customer’s shop floor.
R.P. Multimetals was also among the first in Punjab to introduce the hot rolling of strip before coiling, an early indication of a company willing to adopt a better method ahead of its peers rather than after them.

Billet grades: Mild steel, carbon steel and alloy steel as specified, with controlled carbon, manganese, sulphur and phosphorus levels, produced by continuous casting with controlled cooling. Custom and special-grade billets are manufactured to specific size requirements and mechanical properties beyond the standard range.

Responsible Manufacturing
The Zinc Division, launched in 2023, expresses the company's philosophy in its clearest form. It recycles industrial furnace waste into high-purity zinc rather than disposing of it as hazardous material, turning a by-product that most plants treat as a liability into a certified product line of its own.
It is an approach that reflects a broader conviction: that manufacturing worth doing is manufacturing worth doing efficiently and responsibly, over the long term.
